PAX Launches AirLoad, a new eSIM Deployment Service for Payment Terminals

PAX Technology, one of the world’s leading payment terminal solutions providers, today announced the launch of AirLoad, a new eSIM deployment service available through the MAXSTORE platform.
 

Designed for the merchant customers of acquirers, Payment Service Providers, and ISOs, AirLoad enables virtual SIM profiles to be downloaded, managed and switched remotely Over-the-Air, reducing the need for physical SIM cards, SIM logistics, device handling and field visits. The service is designed to simplify terminal connectivity throughout the device lifecycle, from initial deployment to operator changes and ongoing fleet management.

As payment terminal estates become larger, more connected and more software-driven, connectivity management is becoming an increasingly important operational challenge. Physical SIM cards can create avoidable cost and complexity, including operator-specific inventory, manual SIM replacement, device opening, field engineer visits and potential disruption to merchants.

AirLoad is designed to change that. Compatible with eSIM capability across many PAX A-Series Android terminals, the service gives partners and their customers a more flexible way to activate terminals, manage connectivity and switch operator profiles remotely — without opening the device or dispatching a technician.
